Have a pool or a spa?

By Sheridan King

Have you registered your pool and spa yet? Time is running out, registration and inspection requirements need to be completed by 1st November 2020.

As of 1 December 2019, property owners, including landlords, are required to register their pool or spa (including relocatable/inflatable pools & spas) with their relevant council by 1 November 2020.

The new laws apply to swimming pools and spas that can hold more than 300mm (30cm) of water. This includes permanent pools, above ground pools, indoor pools, hot tubs, bathing or wading pools and some relocatable pools.

If you still need to register your pool or spa, to make things easier, we have included links to the Banyule, Nillumbik and Whittlesea council websites for more information on how to register, including the fees payable. You will be required to complete a registration form and pay the registration fee (and in some cases, an information search fee).
